Finishing boards design: our technologies

Wood B&C uses the state of art technologies to create an individual painting: spraying, painting with brush machines, and manual artistic coating.

Using our technology, we can create a unique and custom finish for any design project.

The advantages of a planed board include the following factors:

  • absolutely smooth surface without any imperfections due to careful grinding;
  • the correct geometric shape enables to work quickly with no gaps;
  • aesthetically attractive appearance allows the use of this particular material for finishing work for wood interior decoration;
  • long lasting solution – dried raw materials are resistant to various natural phenomena, fungi, mold and deformation;
  • the universal form is a beneficial factor for using a cut board in various construction works.

In the production of a finishing board, we use such types of wood as knotless pine, cedar, maple, oak, ash, birch, walnut, African oak (AYOUS) , larch, padouk, cumaru blondo, merbau, ipe and teak.

Natural wood

We offer high-quality smooth planed wood. A planed board is a predominantly finishing material. Therefore it is actively used where high surface quality is needed – particularly in case of laying floors, finishing for walls and ceilings, and manufacturing furniture.

Structuring (or wire-brushing)

Is the process of aging wood using a unique decorative surface treatment technology. The essence of this technology is to reveal and emphasize the texture of a tree, to highlight its pattern more clearly. The method of artificial brushing is based on the difference in the hardness of the layers that constitute the wood. In the process of work, the soft light layer is removed. As a result, the areas become embossed, more textured, giving the material a unique look inherent only in fairly old trees.

Structuring technology cannot be applied to any type of wood. Both soft and rigid varieties are suitable for such processing but always with a pronounced texture and layers of different densities — the most common species for wire-brushing are pine, larch, walnut, ash, oak, and wenge.

Texturing

Is the process of creating a new wood texture. Artisans make a new artificial relief pattern on wood mechanically, using specific machine tools. Texturing is used to create high-quality finishing wood, which can later be used both for interior and facade decoration.

Burnt wood

Or yakisugi, is the result of a natural wood protection technique of Japanese origin, also called shou sugi ban. It consists of burning the surface of a board deeply to obtain a superficial layer of carbon. Wood B&C only uses charcoal for decorative elements. The use of coal for facade finishing is fraught with consequences since coal is a transitional substance between hardwood and ash. Therefore, even with minimal exposure, coal can be damaged.

Painting

To give the finishing boards the desired shade, such paint and varnish coatings as oils, waxes, top paints, and azure (transparent varnish and paint coating) are applied. The lacquer coating is selected by taking into account the future purpose and use of the particular board (interior/exterior design, decor), and also what specific appearance of the finishing board was originally conceived in the design project. For example, painted panels are widely used for facades and interior wood decoration.

Also, since wood is a natural material and requires special maintenance, in addition to painting, we use a hydrophobic and fireproof coating for additional protection of the finishing board.

Quality is the hallmark of Wood B&C. We offer our customers premium finishing materials manufactured from high-quality wood.
Choosing the type of timber for your project, Wood B&C focuses on the aesthetic side of the project and the appropriateness of using a particular type of wood.
In addition, each board undergoes quality control at each stage of processing: choice of material and processing, brushing, painting, and packaging.

Fasteners and membranes

In order to improve wooden buildings’ energy efficiency and sustainability, we offer finest fasteners and membranes, supporting a modern, innovative, and high-quality building process. According to Wood B&C, the most crucial factor in constructing wooden buildings is to increase the timber’s strength.

Based on our experience, the quality of construction joints and fixing solutions guarantees an accelerated and high-quality building process. Therefore, in this segment, we pick companies with wide competence in research and production in partnership, such as Sihga, HOLZ TECHNIC, Rotho Blaas S.R.L, Fixing Systems, SIGA.
